  1. Mansfield Elite Track Club (6-18Y)

    April 1, 2020, 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM @ Mansfield Activities Center

    Mansfield Elite is a structured summer track program with an emphasis on conditioning, technique and track knowledge. Participants will practice on individual and team events every week and train for the regional and state meets. Practices are T & Th 6:30-8:30pm at Lake Ridge High School with circuit meets on Saturdays. Registration is from April 1-30 and a $15 late fee after April 30. Fee includes TAAF Registration, regional entry fees, uniform, and team t-shirt.

  2. Barks & Rec Running Club

    Get in shape and make a difference to a four-legged friend! Our popular running program consists of four weeks of training designed to help all ability levels go from inactivity to completing a 5k race. Meet weekly for coached runs and do additional workouts on your own. Weekly team runs will be enhanced by running partners from the Mansfield Animal Shelter, who will get a workout of their own while enjoying some fresh air with you.

  5. Bark Ranger (15Y+)

    April 18, 2020, 9:00 AM - 10:15 AM @ Elmer W. Oliver Nature Park

    Bring your tail wagging best friend to our new Bark Ranger certification classes! We will create a memory keepsake, talk about outdoor safety for pets, Leave no Trace, and how you and your pet can become park stewards. Upon completion of your Bark Ranger training, you and your pet will receive a certificate, honorary Bark Ranger dog tag, collapsible food bowl, and puppy treats. Then we will hit the trails to show off our new skills. All dogs must be on a fixed leash. 1 dog per registered adult. Children may attend with registered adult. Current rabies certificate must be brought to each class.
    Don’t have a dog? You can participate with a shelter dog! When you sign up you will be asked if you would like to participate with a shelter dog or bring your own dog.

  7. Kayaking 101 (7Y+)

    April 18, 2020, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Britton Park

    Take a break from the hiking trails and get on the water! We will go out in dual-seated kayaks along the creek on Joe Pool Lake. Participants will enjoy a scenic paddle looking for wildlife and plants with a naturalist. We will also instruct on safety, proper techniques, and a eco-friendly approach to paddle. Each child ages 7-17 years must be accompanied by an adult on the tour.

    Kids will learn many different flavor and textural components to the basic burger. Children will make their own burgers and discuss what it is they like about their favorite burger. They will be encouraged to try something new and extend the reach of their palettes when coming to the burger bar. There will be traditional condiments and toppings.   16. Family Camping Trip (All Ages)

    Spending time outdoors is easier than you think! This is a one-night workshop (10 am Saturday - 11 am Sunday) where each family (up to 4 people) gets a campsite with nearby restrooms, use of a tent, s’more supplies, and a campfire.     Come enjoy Oliver Nature Park and learn about the wonders of nature on a guided hike with a Naturalist! Wear weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes. All participants over 2 years of age must pre-register. Each child/family must have at least one adult attending and registered for the program. We encourage nature walks for the whole family!
